Two things that Coach Anwar White said to me early in the process resonated.
1.) “You are many guy’s dream girl.” And the little pageant girl in me needed to hear that! This community of amazing women has made me realize that my many insecurities in my appearance, singleness, dating, etc. have little to do with me and more to do with the fact that I simply hadn’t met my person.
Hearing from other women encountering the same issues was comforting. So for any ladies reading this, know that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with you.
2.) “Be who you are so the person looking for you can find you.” [paraphrased] As a people-pleaser (southerner, only daughter, Christian upbringing) I have been very good at prioritizing other people’s needs and being a chameleon in relationships.
True love in its purest form is born from a spirit of complete honesty and showing up as authentically yourself. Once I realized that, I started being in my MCE all the time and so when Corey expressed his affections, I have faith that he adores the real me. Because that’s the only “me” he’s ever met!
Parting advice– stay consistent, listen to the coaches, follow the program, and be your authentic self. Huge thanks also to Coach Shoya Collins for her infinite wisdom and super power of empathy. ❤️
