Why You’ve Been Called Intimidating in Dating

Hey girl,

Have you ever been called intimidating while talking to a guy or dating? Well, I want to let you know that when they call you intimidating, it’s not that you’re actually intimidating. It’s that they feel like you are judgmental. And when I’m talking about judgmental, I’m talking about you making judgments about not just them, but even things outside of your interaction with these men (even making a stank face).

When you are coming off as judgmental, it is not going to make him feel safe to be emotionally vulnerable with you, which is where we actually make a deep connection. And I get it… If you have been raised in an environment where you’ve had an overly critical parent, especially your mom, then you are going to be judgmental as well.

You’re probably very harsh on yourself, and therefore, you’re really harsh on these guys. Part of this self-work in dating is allowing yourself just to accept and not judge. I had to do it.
